Movie review: Music and Lyrics

Yesterday we had a day off from work due to the March First Movement holiday. What would be the perfect way spend part of our day? How about watching a cheesy romantic comedy? Throw in Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore, and you have yourself an incredible day in the making!

Okay, I'm not a huge fan of Hugh Grant but Music and Lyrics was just one of the few English movies out at the nearby Megabox. If you visit movie theaters in Korea, you'll be in for a treat because they have caramel popcorn! With our 4000w (large) popcorn in hand we entered the theater to our assigned seats. That's right, if you weren't aware, all movie theaters in Korea have assigned seating. I think it's a great idea, so you don't have to move seats to accommodate for people who show up right when the movie starts. So if you show up late, and you can't find the seats you want, too bad!

As for the movie itself...umm...yeah it was cheesy. It did have its funny moments and some of the songs are catchy, but in general the movie was a dud. I'd give it a 6/10...if you are desperate to watch a movie and want some cheap laughs, maybe this movie is for you.

Here's a movie poster advertising the movie in the subway stations--"POP, goes my heart!"

...and here's a picture of a Korean fellow sleeping sitting up. I hope he knows where to get off:
